My New Harp

As you can probably tell by the title of this blog post, I have bought myself a harp! I am so so happy with my new purchase, although it won’t officially be mine until April next year. That’s when it will be completely paid off.

Pilgrim Clarsach

I’ve wanted to own this type of harp for years, pretty much ever since I left college and started teaching. In my opinion, the Pilgrim Clarsach is by far one of the best harps to start learning on. It has a wonderful warm tone, the strings are the same tension as pedal harps making it easier to transition later on, and it is small enough for children to play on.

Teaching the Harp

I had looked into buying it brand new, but came across this harp being sold second hand just down the road from where I live. This has meant I have saved some money, and the harp is almost brand new anyway. The previous owner has looked after this harp impeccably well. There are barely any scratches on the woodwork and the harp has a beautiful tone.

Harp Ensemble

I’ve already used the harp a lot and I’ve only owned it a month. I’ve taught plenty of lessons on it and it’s even been out of the house to take part in a harp ensemble concert.

Harps

I am excited for my little family of harps to continue to grow. Next on the list is a Horngacher Empire. Here's hoping I won't be waiting for too long...

Thanks for reading and see you next time!
