Reintroduction

It has been many years since my last blog post. A lot has been happening in my life; the pandemic, a new relationship, IVF, pregnancy and then bringing up a child. Add in a couple of holidays, new teaching jobs, new private students and a sprinkle of weddings and other gigs. The one constant has been my residency at the Grove Hotel in Watford, Hertfordshire. I have had the residency for 7.5 years now, and it has been the best 7.5 years of my career.

I will not go too much into my personal life, but I do think I need to explain how overwhelming and all-consuming it has been. Going through IVF is incredibly difficult, it is like having a second full time job. The injections, scans, procedures, research, heart ache. It is very emotionally and physically draining. But now I am the other side of it, with a beautiful child I get to call my own, I feel ready to get back into exploring my creativity. Whether that is through my playing, my teaching, my blog or other means, I feel inspired.
Could it perhaps be something to do with the arrival of Spring, I’m sure of it, and I embrace it.
I would like to be more present here on my blog, writing more regularly. I will bring updates and insights into my life as a harpist.
In between blogs, you can find me on instagram and facebook, where I will be updating more regularly.. My handle is @bethangillardharp. You can also reach my instagram and facebook pages through my website.
Thank you for reading!
